Health Insurance Coverage

Kansas Health Coverage

Having health insurance is critical to good health and access to affordable health care. Understanding the trends in insurance coverage is a critical part of health policy in our state. It’s important to look at where people get their insurance, which groups of people and what areas of the state are more likely to be uninsured, and how the insurance market in Kansas is changing.

KHI examines health insurance coverage in Kansas including who has it, how insurance is changing, how well the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Health Insurance Marketplace functions, how state and federal policy affect health insurance coverage, and whether under-insurance is becoming more of an issue.
