Kansas Population Health

How healthy are we as a state overall? How evenly distributed is health within our state? What can communities do to improve health? These issues are captured by the concept of population health, which links clinical and non-clinical approaches to improving the health of groups and communities. Population health reaches people beyond healthcare settings and traditional governmental public health services.

KHI works on important and timely issues impacting population health, including tobacco and vaping, food insecurity, housing, transportation and education. We also assist communities and policymakers in their work to identify, access and understand evidence-based strategies for improving population health.
