A child stacks blocks. At the top of the page are the words, "Understanding the Rise in Uninsured Children in Kansas".

On Nov. 5, 2026, the Kansas Health Institute hosted a convening examining the rise in Kansas children without health insurance between 2022 and 2024.

During the morning session, available in person and online, experts presented current research on where affected children live, their demographic characteristics and what the trend means for the state. They also discussed a range of policy responses and considerations.

In-person attendees then stayed for a solutions-focused working lunch. Through facilitated table conversations, participants shared what’s being done, what’s working and where there’s room to do more to help Kansas children get and keep health coverage.

The recording of the morning session and related resources will be posted soon.
