The Kansas Health Institute (KHI) has conducted analysis related to adults in the Medicaid expansion population. It includes:

  • An updated estimate of adults age 19-64 with income up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) who would enroll in Medicaid if expanded.
  • A description of key characteristics of the population that would be newly eligible for Medicaid under the expansion terms of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Read the full memo.

KHI also will soon release an issue brief and technical documentation that include estimates of other effects of Medicaid expansion in Kansas, including the indirect effect of expansion on enrollment for children, and the costs, revenues, savings and federal incentives associated with expansion. Watch the Policy & Research page for publication of the full issue brief.
