April 18, 2024 — House Speaker Dan Hawkins spoke about his opposition to Medicaid expansion at a recent meeting in Plainville. An issue brief from KHI, cited in this article, estimates federal incentives in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 would provide an estimated $509 million in savings to Kansas over two years, offsetting the equivalent of approximately eight years of net expansion state costs.
