Kevin Kovach, Dr.P.H., M.Sc., Senior Analyst, provides research and technical support related to our work in public health services and systems.
Kevin has extensive experience overseeing research in both public health and primary care. Prior to joining KHI, Kevin was a Senior Manager of the Population and Community Health Department of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In that role, Kevin developed innovative programs that translated evidence and innovations into practice. He has written position papers on clinical and public health topics, and authored articles that were published in leading public health and medical journals.
Kevin also has an independent record of public health services and systems research encapsulated by publications on the academic health department, the impact of PHAB accreditation on health equity, and a new blog series on JPHMP Direct called Collaborative Advantage: Working Together for Public Health. Prior roles have included a series of positions with official public health organizations, like the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, the Michigan Department of Community Health, and the Ionia (Mich.) County Health Department.
Kevin has a doctorate degree in public health from the University of Illinois at Chicago, a master’s degree in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a graduate certificate in qualitative research from Kansas State University.
