Tuesday, Feb. 10:
Federal Rural Health Funding in Kansas
Federal investments play an important role in supporting rural health systems, including in Kansas. On Feb. 10, KHI hosted a virtual session that provided an overview of key federal rural health funding efforts, including Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) programs and the Rural Health Transformation Program. Participants learned how these initiatives support rural health access, care delivery and system sustainability, and what they may mean for Kansas communities and state policy discussions.

Health Insurance Marketplace Changes in 2026
Marketplace premiums and plan options are changing in 2026. Many of the 200,000 Kansans who enrolled in the previous year are experiencing changes in affordability, and enhanced federal subsidies have expired. On Feb. 17, KHI provided a virtual overview of premium trends, insurer participation and how different households may be affected. Participants heard from a panel representing community clinics, hospitals and patient navigation services about what these changes mean for access to care and service delivery across Kansas.

Understanding OBBBA (H.R. 1) and Its Impacts on Medicaid and CHIP in Kansas
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1) included significant federal changes to Medicaid that could affect Kansas’ health coverage landscape. This session will provide an overview of key OBBBA provisions affecting Medicaid financing tools, enrollment and eligibility rules, and incentives for expansion. You will learn how these federal changes may impact access to care, how the state administers the program, and policy discussions in Kansas. Join us to better understand what OBBBA’s implementation could mean for key aspects of Medicaid in Kansas.

Learn How to Host a Hunger Free Kansas Data Walk
Data walks are an engaging way to tell the story of hunger in Kansas using data to spark conversation and action. To foster dialogue and solutions around hunger, health and nutrition access, Hunger Free Kansas is bringing its Data Walk to communities across the state. On March 3, KHI hosted a virtual presentation and panel discussion highlighting the data walk posters and offering practical tips for planning and facilitating a data walk locally.

Bring It Finale: Turning Health Policy Insights into Action
Turning health policy information into meaningful action starts with dialogue. The March 10, 2026, Bring It learning series finale brought colleagues from across sectors together for an interactive, participant-driven conversation focused on current and emerging health policy topics. Building on themes explored throughout the Bring It learning series, this session created opportunities for participants to share perspectives, surface key questions and explore ideas for action or collaboration.
