On October 19, 2017, the Kansas Health Institute convened water experts to discuss how health impact assessments (HIAs) can be used to identify health considerations in policymaking for sectors not directly associated with health. KHI also discussed findings of its recently released HIA, Potential Health Effects of Municipal Water Reuse in Kansas.
KHI would like to thank our panelists (pictured from left to right in the photo above): Toby Dougherty, city manager of Hays; Jake White, senior environmental engineer with Burns & McDonnell’s Water Group; Fred Jones, water resource manager of Garden City; Florence Fulk, formerly of the Environmental Protection Agency; and Moderator Sarah Green (not pictured), project manager for the Kansas Health Foundation’s Water Initiative.
