The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released final summary enrollment data on March 11, 2016, for the insurance marketplace created by the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
As of February 1, 2016, there were 101,555 Kansans enrolled in health insurance through the Kansas marketplace. Individual coverage, including Kansans signing up for coverage on the marketplace, makes up 7.2 percent of the overall insured population in Kansas.
The Kansas Health Institute has prepared a map that shows the number and percentage of Kansans, by county, who have selected a plan or were automatically re-enrolled for the 2016 coverage year. Maps are also included showing Kansas enrollees in Douglas, Johnson, Sedgwick, Shawnee and Wyandotte Counties, by zip code. All of these enrollees had active coverage in place as of March 2016.
