Quantitative Research Analyst

Are you looking for an opportunity to impact policy and improve health in Kansas? The Kansas Health Institute (KHI) seeks candidates with quantitative research and analysis skills to grow its team of analysts who do exactly that. If you are a quantitative researcher with experience in healthcare, public health or a related area, you could be part of a team participating in a wide range of projects that fulfill KHI’s mission to improve the health of all Kansans through nonpartisan research, education and engagement.

The successful candidate should bring strong research and analytic skills that enable them to participate in a wide range of projects. They will work with project teams to design studies and develop analytical approaches. They will manage and analyze various types of data and transform them into meaningful information. These data include, but are not limited to, census data, vital statistics, health-related survey and surveillance data, and health insurance claims data.

Candidates for the Quantitative Research Analyst position should have a master’s degree in health services research, public health, statistics, biostatistics, economics, social science, or a relevant discipline, although comparable experience will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate experience in applied research and be familiar with a variety of research methods. Proficient skill in SAS or a comparable statistical programming language is required, and experience with data visualization is desirable.

Analysts are provided the opportunity to play an important role in conducting existing projects as well as shaping new projects. A broad interest in health policy and public health is required and experience working with private and public health insurance claims data is highly desirable. The ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented applied research setting is essential.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, with an anticipated hiring salary range of $62,500 to $75,000.
