Prepared as background information for the March 9, 2001, Kansas Health Policy Forum, this Forum Brief reviews major program and policy issues facing states regarding public health insurance for children. A discussion of innovative approaches for expanding and improving children’s public health insurance, an extensive review of Medicaid and SCHIP programs and current information about Kansas’ experience is included.
