From April 30 through May 2, 2004, the Kansas Mission of Mercy held a free dental clinic on the campus of Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. There, more than 900 dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists and volunteers provided free dental care to more than 2,000 people. This report analyzes data from an exit survey given to participants of the clinic. It summarizes the experiences and characteristics of the clinic patients in order to document the event and to continue to elevate oral health as a matter of public interest.
