Kansas City, Kansas, is featured as one of four pilot sites for the new City Health Dashboard, an interactive tool that allows users to explore data through maps and tables in order to better understand health disparities within their city. The dashboard was developed by New York University and the National Resource Network, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Under the guidance of Mayor Mark Holland’s office, a coalition of Kansas City stakeholders provided input and expertise in selecting data measures to be included in the dashboard. The Kansas Health Institute served on that coalition and also assisted with local project management.

“For many years, the Unified Government has worked to improve the health of its citizens by using data as a tool to inform decision-making,” said Robert F. St. Peter, M.D., KHI president and CEO. “This new dashboard provides insights at the neighborhood level, helping policymakers identify the areas with the greatest need.”
