On February 6, 2017, KHI's Kari Bruffett, director of policy, presented neutral testimony to the House Committee on Health and Human Services for House Bill 2064. This bill, also known as the KanCare Bridge to a Healthy Kansas program, will promote and administer the program to potentially eligible individuals who are medically underserved in Kansas. During the testimony, KHI provided material that was developed to describe the potential effects of a decision related to Medicaid expansion in Kansas. It focused primarily on the update of KHI's expansion estimate, which described the estimated enrollment and direct costs of expansion.
