Child Welfare System Working Groups: Report to the Child Welfare System Task Force (September 2018)

READ IT HERE:

The Child Welfare System Task Force was established in 2017 as directed by House Substitute for Senate Bill 126. The 20-member task force, which included legislators, agency staff, providers, court officials, attorneys, law enforcement officers, advocacy organizations and citizens with lived experience, convened three working groups to study the following topics:

  • General administration of child welfare by the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) and foster care;
  • Protective services and family preservation; and
  • Reintegration and permanency placement.

The Kansas Health Institute provided administrative and facilitation support to the three working groups.
