The environment in which we live can affect our health. Environmental hazards can contribute to the development of health conditions such as asthma, cardiovascular disease, lead poisoning and cancer. This report identifies important environmental health issues in Kansas and emphasizes the need for stronger environmental health surveillance and analysis that will capture the effects of the environment on health outcomes so that health issues can be prioritized and interventions implemented.
