Dr. Newacheck is the author of approximately one hundred and twenty peer-reviewed journal articles, monographs, and book chapters in the last twenty years on issues of child and adolescent health, and he is a frequent speaker at scientific and professional meetings. Dr. Newacheck serves on the editorial boards of several peer-reviewed journals, including Health Services Research and Children's Services: Social Policy, Research, and Practice.
In addition to his teaching duties at UCSF, Dr. Newacheck is adjunct professor in the Health and Medical Sciences Program of the School of Public Health at his alma mater, the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Newacheck earned a baccalaureate degree in economics, a masters degree in public policy, and a doctorate in public health, all from the University.
