Jason Orr, M.P.H., Analyst, joined the Kansas Health Institute in 2015. He works on a variety of projects, with a focus on public health. Prior to joining KHI, Jason was the emergency preparedness coordinator for the Riley County Health Department in Manhattan, Kansas. In his time with Riley County, he held vice chair and planning chair roles within the Northeast Kansas Preparedness Healthcare Coalition (NEHCC).
Jason studied at Kansas State University where he earned a master’s degree in public health (emphasis in infectious diseases and zoonoses) and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (secondary major in biological engineering). He has certifications in the incident command system and public information from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, as well as in exercise design and evaluation from the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program.
