Janet is director of the State Employee Health Benefits Program. Prior to that, she served as Senior Vice-President & Chief Operating Officer at Stormont Vail Health, a role she held for more than a decade. She started at Stormont in 1998 as the Director of Health Information Management and was promoted to Vice President & CIO in 2000; she assumed additional responsibility for support services in 2004 before being named COO. Prior to moving to Kansas, she served in various management and administrative positions in acute care hospitals in Pennsylvania and Western New York State.
She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a fellow of the Health Information and Systems Society and is a Registered Health Information Administrator. Janet was elected to a three-year term as the State of Kansas Regent for the ACHE and is the past-president of the Kansas Association of Health Care Executives. She also serves as the chair of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Topeka Civic Theater board of directors. Previously, Janet was president of the McKesson Corporation’s Insight User Group and served on several national health care IT committees.
Janet received a master’s degree in business administration from Alfred University and a bachelor’s degree in medical record administration from the State University of New York, College of Technology. In addition, she received a graduate certificate in population health studies from Thomas Jefferson University.
