D. Charles Hunt, M.P.H., Senior Analyst, joined KHI in 2017. He works on a variety of projects focusing on public and population health issues. Prior to joining KHI, he was state epidemiologist and director of the Bureau of Epidemiology and Public Health Informatics at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). Prior to that position, he served as deputy state epidemiologist, senior epidemiologist in the Bureau of Health Promotion, and research instructor with the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, where he continues to hold an adjunct faculty appointment. His local public health experience includes communicable disease epidemiology as well as health promotion and community health assessment and planning. Charlie holds a master's degree in public health from the University of Kansas.
