Gov. Mark Parkinson said he will push for an increase in the state's tobacco tax. Currently the tax is 79 cents per pack, which is below the national average of $1.37 per pack. A tax increase would raise about $50 million to help deal with the state's budget crisis and also would help curb teen smoking, the governor said in this interview with KHI News Service.
