Sixteen health care programs at the University of Kansas ranked among the Top 40 programs nationwide, according to the 2013 U.S News & World Reports graduate school rankings released this week.
Among the top-ranked programs was KU Medical School's Rural Medicine program, which ranked No. 12 out of the 23 that were analyzed. KU's Family Medicine program ranked No. 14 out of the 21 analyzed. KU's Primary Care program ranked No. 35 out of about 90 analyzed.
“I was especially pleased to see our rural medicine and family medicine programs on this list, and was happy that our primary care ranking improved by six places,” said Barbara Atkinson, executive vice chancellor of the University of Kansas Medical Center. “This year, the opening of our Salina campus and the expansion of our Wichita campus to a four-year medical school program increased recognition in areas where we have always been strong.”
