TOPEKA The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence will celebrate its 30th anniversary from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday with a reception featuring an appearance by former Kansas Attorney General Bob Stephan.
The event will be held at the KCSDV offices at 634 SW Harrison in Topeka.
Also scheduled to speak are Cheryl Howard, program director with the National Network to End Domestic Violence, KCDVS Director Joyce Grover, and longtime advocates for domestic violence victims Susan Moran, Juliene Maska and Sandy Barnett.
Stephan is a long-time opponent of domestic violence and a supporter of services for its victims. He is expected to talk about the effects of his witnessing his father abuse his mother.
As attorney general, Stephan led efforts to pass the Crime Victims Bill of Rights.
The event is free and open to the public.
