OVERLAND PARK Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer, a point man for Gov. Sam Brownback's plan to remake the state's Medicaid program, is scheduled to speak about the proposed KanCare reforms at a free, public event in Overland Park on Thursday.

The event, which is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, is sponsored by the Kansas Policy Institute, a conservative think tank based in Wichita.
Scheduled speakers in addition to Colyer are Dave Trabert, the policy institute's president, and Tarren Bragdon, chief executive of the Foundation for Government Accountability, a Florida nonprofit organization that advocates for limited government.
The event is at Regnier Hall Auditorium on the University of Kansas Edwards Campus, 12600 Quivira Rd. in Overland Park.
