TOPEKA State health officials have begun publishing a web-based newsletter aimed at keeping the public up to date on KanCare and its implementation.
The bi-weekly newsletter, called KanCare Advisor, is available in the KanCare website. It’s also being emailed to members of several intra-departmental work groups, members of the Governor’s KanCare Advisory Council, provider associations and advocacy groups.
The newsletter is a joint project of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.
The latest edition, posted Nov. 7, calls attention to several upcoming KanCare training sessions.
“This is one extra way of providing the latest KanCare information to our partners and stakeholders on a consistent basis,” said Miranda Steele, communications coordinator at KDHE.
“We’re holding the weekly status calls and keeping the website updated with training opportunities and system changes, and we continue to meet with groups around the state,” she said. “So with this news bulletin we can consolidate and condense all of those updates into a single location, which is hopefully a convenient medium for parties interested in KanCare.”
The KanCare Advisor does not have a subscription link, but Steele said she can add anyone who wishes to the email list. Steele may be contacted via email at msteele@kdheks.gov.
