Public health association has conference date

Two-day event set at Topeka's Capital Plaza hotel

— The Kansas Public Health Association's 67th annual meeting and fall conference is scheduled later this month at Topeka's Capital Plaza Hotel.

The two-day event, Sept. 29 and 30, will include various speakers and discussion panels, including a keynote address from Dr. Georges Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association.

Other scheduled speakers include:

Ed O'Malley, chief executive of the Kansas Leadership Council,

Steve Shields, chief executive of Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community of Manhattan.

Major General Tod Bunting, the state's adjutant general.

Panel discussions will cover various topics including obesity among the disabled, school nursing, and investigating food-borne disease outbreaks.
