Videos of the recent health-care forum at the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics have been posted on the
Web site of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The Aug. 4 "Leaders" Project" forum featured an appearance by former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole, R-Kan.
Panel discussions featured in the videos:
*
Panel 1 - Empowering patients to access and effectively use high-value care
*
Panel 2 - Engaging consumers on preventive and wellness care to encourage healthier lifestyles
*
Panel 3 - Health care reform: meeting the needs of rural communities
Several state officials, including Kansas Health Policy Authority Executive Director Marcia Nielsen and board member E. J. "Ned" Holland, took part in the panels.
The forum, sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center, was partially underwritten by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The Leaders" Project is chaired by former Senate Majority Leaders Dole and Howard Baker, both Republicans, and Tom Daschle and George Mitchell, both Democrats.
Plans call for each of the former senators hosting similar sessions in their home states and developing a health reform plan to be presented to the new president and Congress in February.
