Parental and Provider Attitudes, Practices, and Beliefs about Childhood Immunizations in Kansas

Providers and parents were interviewed to gain an understanding of the factors that may influence the immunization rate in Kansas. Common themes about the childhood immunization process emerged. Good patient information, education and follow-up were identified as the most significant facilitating factors by both providers and parents. However, it appears that parental needs for education and follow-up are currently not being met despite provider efforts.
