Employment, even full-time employment, is no guarantee of access to employer-sponsored insurance. Only sixty-four percent of private-sector employees have access to health insurance through their employers at a given point in time.
In order for an employee to have access to health insurance, the employer must offer it and the employee must be eligible. For health insurance to be truly accessible to an employee, it must be affordable, taking out-of-pocket expenses into account.
