The Kansas Mission of Mercy (KMOM) free dental clinic was held in Garden City on April 18-19, 2008. This was the seventh Kansas Mission of Mercy, during which more than $800,000 in free dental services were provided to 1,776 children and adults.

Volunteers at the clinic collected exit surveys from patients, which KHI analyzed and summarized for the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund.

The surveys indicated that 88.6 percent of KMOM patients had gone without dental care because of an inability to pay for services, 15.1 percent had never been to a dentist, and 37.8 percent had been in pain for a month or longer.
