Poor Kansans and providers have a lot riding on Medicaid decision

The federal health reform law recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court greatly expands Medicaid, the healthcare program for the poor. But a twist in the ruling made the expansion optional for states. What Kansas officials will decide to do isn’t yet clear. What is clear is that their decision — whatever it is — will have a big impact on health care providers and uninsured Kansans.
