Some lawmakers believe the Kansas Legislature will try to amend a plan to overhaul the state’s Medicaid program. Gov. Sam Brownback’s proposal will reorganize the agencies that handle Medicaid and create privatized managed care programs. Democratic Topeka Senator Anthony Hensley believes the overhaul should be delayed. A rally is scheduled for Wednesday, as lawmakers return to Topeka for the wrap up session. The protest is aimed at urging legislators to exempt people with developmental disabilities from the proposed managed care programs.
